"When you go to war both sides lose totally." - Yoko Ono

"It just was a gradual development over the years. I mean last year was 'all you need is love.' This year, it's 'all you need is love and peace, baby.' Give peace a chance, and remember Love. The only hope for us is peace. Violence begets violence. You can have peace as soon as you like if we all pull together. You're all geniuses, and you're all beautiful. You don't need anyone to tell you who you are. You are what you are. Get out there and get peace, think peace, and live peace and breathe peace, and you'll get it as soon as you like." - John Lennon

"The cynicism that you have is not your real soul." - Yoko

"Possession isn't nine-tenths of the law. It's nine-tenths of the problem." - John

Craig "C-NO" Kaths

I met Craig more than 2,290 days ago when we were both going to school. I immediately liked Craig for numerous reasons; he’s honest, humble, he’s an artist and a musician, and his tastes for life’s flavors are genuine and innovative. Craig and I ended up getting an apartment together two years after we initially met. Although Craig dislikes washing the dishes, he was one of the best roommates I had. We’d have amazing conversations, we drank some damn good domestic and imported beers, we exchanged music and artistic insights, and our relationship as friends was at that time comparable to a lotus flower growing from a soiled pond; our apartment building was a hood rat infested, hazardous meth lab, unbeknownst to us, and our friendship soared above the grime and filth that existed outside our door. Praises to dead bolts and door chains!
Craig Kaths; your last name is German, you just migrated north, your legs are as strong as Pacific Coast Redwoods, and you are an artist. Is there an underlining concept behind your artistic endeavors and if so, what is that concept?I would like to think of my work as an embodiment of sound, having some relation to music or technical realms of sound.
Do you have a favorite artist or a favorite piece of work?
I really like some older artist like Rauschenburg and artist of that era but there's amazing people everywhere that I keep seeing, people like Olafur Eliasson, Ryan Mcginness, and Christian Marclay. As far as a favorite piece, I'm not really sure. Back in the day John Cage did this piece called 4:33. He walked up to a piano and sat at it for 4 min and 33 sec. He was proving the point that you can’t have music or sound without silence.
You and Steven Brandi have known each other for a solid chunk of time. There is a swamp tongue term known as "Steve and Craig" food. Please enlighten us on what your favorite Steve and Craig food is at this moment in time, as well as Steve's favorite Steve and Craig food.
Steve and Craig food, ah yes…That term first came from Stink because we used to eat the worst shit at gas stations, like 25 cent chips and Arizona tall boys. I think it has evolved, ironically into health food now. Anytime Scott (Dre) goes into a really nice grocery store he'll always call me and say "You should see this place it's so Steve and Craig." As far as what my daily Steve and Craig is right now I would have to say a bottle of Orangina and a Lara bar. As far as Steve, I'm not sure but I would have to say that he lives on a steady diet of coffee, espresso, and whatever Snyce has for free.
Craig. I lived with you for one year when we were some how completing secondary schooling and partaking in life's temptations on a daily basis. Our apartment was definitely in the worst complex in that area. Please recall one memory from that special time that we spent together. So, I was working at the Skatepark and Yonni and Steve called me telling me that they had to evacuate our spot because the guy living underneath us was cooking meth and something went wrong and my whole room was clouded with meth gas for like four days. Not psyched on that one at all; that's just one incidence. There were so many others, we should probably brainstorm and come up with a story based on true events about that place it would be a mix between ‘Cops’ and ‘Landspeed’ or something similar.
And lastly, who are your top three favorite musicians, and who would you guess are my favorite top three musicians?Top three musicians; Jimi, Miles, and Pete Rock. As for you I would have to say Jimi, The Stones, King Tubby, was I close with the estimates?
Yes, my friend, close enough.Hope all is good on the Left coast, the Right coast is chilln.
